Contact: Focal Point in China Staff
The ILSI Focal Point in China in collaboration with the Institute of Nutrition and Food Hygiene, Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine, has started a large population-based NaFeEDTA fortified soy sauce intervention trial in Bijie City, Guizhou Province beginning in early September , 2001. Expectations are that the results of this trial will provide the scientific basis for further introduction of this approach for the control of iron deficiency anemia and for the formulation of government regulations for the production and use of NaFeEDTA fortified soy sauce in China.
